I have had this antique birdcage for at least 25 years. I am pleased to share that it finally had a bird on its perch! clean and worry free!

Sports

I am not much of a sports fan but Qgirl's Class is putting together a sports themed raffle basket. So here's what I came up with. I hope they go to a good home!

If you live near me sorry for the spoiler, but these are the little treats I have been working on for Christmas gifts. With any luck you just might get one! FYI these are Knitted Dishcloths. If you haven't used one it may seem a strange idea but once you have used one you'll want nothing else for your washing up, except perhaps a dishwasher!

Girls and Cotton balls

Here's a trick I have been doing for a few years. We use cotton balls quite frequently for cleaning earrings and skin cleansing. This idea helps a girl access the cotton balls more easily and have them ready on your counter top or dresser.
 I have always wondered why the cotton ball manufacturers don't sell their cotton balls in tissue boxes?

Girls and hair things

If you have a daughter you probably know this problem.  The giant bin of dollar store hair ties and headbands!

What to do with the Hair ties and Headbands? Today I finally got around to organising and it was one of those projects where you think why didn't I do this sooner? I cleaned out a gigantic cardboard can that once held lemonade mix. and covered it with wrapping paper.

 I sorted the hair elastics and barrettes and placed them inside my newly fashionable tin!

 

I placed the lid back on top and wrapped the headbands around the can. Done! tidy, easily accessible and virtually kitty proof.

Lazy Summer

It's been an extremely lazy Summer but Qgirl and I managed to complete one little project! She is awake on one side and aleep on the other. She doesn't have a name yet but she's got a pillow,  nightgown,  teddy bear and a soft fabric bag to carry everything. I have a feeling she will end up with a sweater and a hat for Autumn. She seems to be a nice quiet houseguest!
