Birthday season

It was my Eighth Birthday and I was having a sleepover. My friends had asked who I was inviting I was informed that I just HAD to invite Stephanie, a girl I really didn't care for. It was brought to my attention that her Mother made wonderful pillows as presents. You got to choose the colour and the animal. Voila! I received a lovely blue gingham pillow with a navy floral cat silhouette. We did pay the price for that pillow because Stephanie's toddler brother was dropped at the party with her....
I kept that pillow with me all the way to college in the UK until it wore out and it was too much trouble to bring it back home. How I wish I still had that pillow. Perhaps one of these days I'll make myself another.
Now it's Birthday season in my home and Qgirl is getting a purple wolf pillow. She has since change her preference in both animal and colour but tough luck on that this is what she's getting!
